What Should We Pay Attention To When Using Chemical Pumps
Sanitary Centrifugal Pump can be installed with different types of mechanical seals according to different use conditions (such as internal single-end balanced and unbalanced types, double-end balanced and unbalanced types, external mechanical seals, etc.). Depending on the selected seal type, its use method and precautions are also different. For specific situations, please refer to the mechanical seal installation and use instructions, GB3215-82 "General Technical Conditions for Centrifugal Pumps for Refineries, Chemical and Petrochemical Processes". The following Benuo Pump Valve only mentions a few general precautions.
1. Since mechanical seals are generally suitable for use in clean media without suspended particles, the newly installed pipeline system and liquid storage tank should be carefully rinsed to prevent solid impurities from entering the mechanical seal end face and causing the seal to fail.
2. In media that are easy to crystallize, mechanical seals should be used with care to rinse frequently. Before restarting after stopping, clean the crystals on the mechanical seal.
3. The mechanical seal should be disassembled carefully, and it is not allowed to be knocked with a hammer or iron tools to avoid damaging the dynamic and static ring sealing surfaces.
4. If there is dirt that cannot be removed, try to remove the dirt and rinse it before disassembly to avoid damaging the sealing elements.
5. Before installing the mechanical seal, check whether all sealing elements are invalid or damaged. If so, they should be repaired or replaced.
6. The relative friction sealing surface of the dynamic ring and the static ring should be strictly checked, and no minor scratches, bumps or other defects are allowed. All other parts, including the pump body, impeller, sealing chamber, etc. should be rinsed before assembly, especially the end faces of the dynamic and static rings, which should be carefully wiped with a clean, soft cloth or cotton yarn, and then coated with a layer of clean grease or engine oil.
7. Pay attention to eliminating deviations during assembly. When tightening the screws, tighten them evenly to avoid deflection and make the seal ineffective.
8. Correctly adjust the compression of the spring. After the pump is installed, when you turn the rotor by hand, you should feel that the sealing spring has a certain amount of compression, but can rotate lightly and flexibly without biting. If it feels too tight or the disc does not move, it should be loosened appropriately.
9. For IH chemical pumps with external flushing mechanical seals, the flushing wave should be turned on before starting to fill the sealing cavity with sealing liquid. When stopping, stop the pump first and then turn off the sealing flushing liquid.
